The 8-Stage Leadership Journey
MEN does not appoint leaders. It develops them. The MEN Leadership Pathway is the official journey from entry to legacy — from a man’s first Circle session to his place as a guardian of the movement.
Every stage requires consistent service. Every stage develops new competencies. Every stage earns — not claims — its authority.
The 8 Stages
Stage 1 — Brother (Entry)
Where the journey begins.
- Accept the MEN Creed
- Join a MENCircle
- Attend first 2–3 sessions
- Advancement: Consistent attendance for 4–6 weeks
Stage 2 — Active Member
Consistency builds credibility.
- 70% Circle attendance
- Active participation in accountability rounds
- Demonstrated respect and confidentiality
- Advancement: Visible growth + reliability
Stage 3 — Contributor
Service is the first sign of leadership.
- Support Circle Leads
- Help organize events
- Assist with MEN Academy
- Volunteer for MEN Cares Fund
- Advancement: Consistent service + positive peer feedback
Stage 4 — Ambassador
The public face of MEN in a city or community.
- Complete MEN Leadership Foundations
- Demonstrate MEN values publicly
- Recruit new brothers
- Represent MEN at events
- Advancement: Demonstrated leadership + MENGlobal approval
Stage 5 — Circle Lead
The most important leadership role in MEN.
- Complete Circle Lead Orientation
- Demonstrate emotional maturity
- Uphold the Brotherhood Code
- Facilitate weekly or bi-weekly meetings
- Advancement: Strong Circle health + MENGlobal recommendation
Stage 6 — Chapter Lead
City-level leadership.
- Complete MEN Leadership Track
- Proven Circle Lead experience
- Demonstrated character and consistency
- Ability to build and manage teams
- Advancement: Regional impact + MENGlobal evaluation
Stage 7 — MENGlobal Council
Global governance and vision protection.
- Proven chapter leadership
- High character and credibility
- Strategic thinking at movement level
- Selected through observation, recommendation, and affirmation
Stage 8 — Legacy MEN
Lifetime honor for extraordinary service.
A brother elevated to Legacy MEN status has given a lifetime of service to the movement. This is the highest recognition in MEN.
